Oval and Copper Ridge Announcement Clarification

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX: AZ9) is pleased to report breakthrough findings from the Yambat Project’s Oval Cu-Ni-PGE prospect in Mongolia, reinforcing our strategic position within Asia’s energy transition minerals market. Following a comprehensive Phase 1 drilling program, ABM’s latest core samples have revealed promising mineralized zones, showcasing notable copper-nickel and precious metal concentrations.

Key Discovery Highlights

Drill hole OVD021 has confirmed a remarkable intercept of:

  • 8.8 meters @ 6.08% Cu, 3.19% Ni, 1.63 g/t E3 (Pt+Pd+Au), and 0.11% Co from a depth of 107.2m.

These findings include dense disseminated and net-textured sulphide intercepts:

  • 7.85m @ 0.75% Cu, 0.78% Ni, 0.15 g/t E3 from 99.35m and 15.8m @ 1.36% Cu, 1.00% Ni, 0.44 g/t E3 from 116m.

The mineralization remains open in multiple directions (NE, SW, NW, SE), indicating the potential for significant resource expansion. With ongoing Downhole Electromagnetic (DHEM) analysis, ABM aims to refine drill targets and enhance the geological model for the Oval system.

Phase 1 Drilling Program – Technical Data

Phase 1 drilling included 19 diamond drill holes totaling 2,896.85 meters across the Yambat Project:

  • Oval Cu-Ni-PGE prospect: 2,183.85 meters.
  • Copper Ridge scout drilling: 459.8 meters.
  • Abandoned holes SC02 and OVD013A: No material impact on geology interpretation.

The standout discovery, OVD021, was specifically targeted using DHEM guidance, penetrating an intense mineralized zone with grades of 7.88% Cu, 2.94% Ni, and 2.07 g/t E3 over an interval from 109 to 111 meters. Additional results from drill holes OVD009A, OVD013, and OVD019 further suggest the potential continuity of the mineralized system.
